Work to Begin in Spring Construction related electrical infrastructure work in scheduled to take place on Ranchview Drive between Wehrli Road and 75th Street beginning the week of March 30, 2009.
This project is part of the City’s long-term capital improvement plan to enhance the electric system’s performance and reliability in the area. The work consists of replacing approximately 7,000 feet of electric duct bank to upgrade the existing utilities in the area. It involves the installation of underground PVC conduit and manholes that will have new electric cabling installed to feed existing above grade electric structures. No new above grade structures will be installed along Ranchview Drive. Most of the work will occur within the roadway but a portion of the duct bank will be installed underneath the sidewalk along the south side of the project (see attached map, PDF 95 KB).
Construction is scheduled to begin in late March and be completed by the end of June. Ranchview Drive will remain open to traffic throughout the project but there will be periodic lane restrictions (i.e. one way traffic) and parking restrictions within the work zone. Driveway access may be impacted for short periods of time but advance notification will be given during these situations. Driveways will be accessible at the end of each work day except for instances when concrete driveways or sidewalks need to be replaced.
Project completion incentives/penalties have been incorporated into the contract in an effort to reduce the overall timeline and minimize disruption to area residents.
