Current Status (Updated May 16, 2012)

The Water Street TIF District was approved by the City of Naperville in December 2007. Reports for each fiscal year will be created for the duration of the TIF.

The Illinois State Statute requires each TIF District to conduct an annual meeting of the Joint Review Board (JRB). The 2011 meeting was conducted February 16, 2012. A copy of the agenda is provided below.

Background

A TIF Feasibility Study for the Water Street Area was conducted in 2002 which showed the area was qualified for eligible expenditures, including public improvements that could be funded under the TIF Act. A Water Street Vision Statement was drafted and a Joint Review Board was established to create the proposed Water Street Tax Increment (TIF) District.

A public hearing was held that featured a presentation that provided an overview of the proposed Water Street TIF District.

The Water Street TIF District was approved in 2007. The ordinances creating the district are listed below:

The Water Street Preliminary P.U.D. proposed by Marquette Property Investments Inc, was approved by the City Council on November 6, 2007.
